I sailed San Luis a few weeks ago with the water level at 119 and the
weeds were tolerable. As the season progresses we'll need a higher
level or have to switch to a weed fin.

Most of the camping on the southeast (onshore) side of the forebay is
pretty exposed. But the northwest (offshore) side has a campground in
the back that looks like it might be better protected (lots of trees)
and might even have showers. However, you can't sail right here, so I
guess you have to decide whether you'd rather have quiet nights or be
able to launch 20 ft from your campsite.

The entrance to the offshore launches is on Rt 152. The entrance to
the onshore launches is on Rt 33, just a few hundred yards from the
152 intersection.

There's also the upper reservoir (Basalt area) which is open to
intermediate+ sailors. You're required to have a sailing buddy in
high-wind (25+) conditions up there.
