Friday and today were good at Doran-Bodega. Today we rigged at Doran in E
wind~20mph. 8'8"glass+7'10"styro(110#),5.2+3.8spiderlock. Sets rolling in,
some head high, wind direction causing the sailor to go out through the zone
on port tack. Went out and back a few times and found that the shore break
had jacked up and the wind had died. We derigged and went inside to the
harbour, Spud Marina. The wind switched to more south SSE and howled...gusts
in the 40's. Liquid smoke on the water and sandpaper rain in the face!
Bodega harbour started looking like the open ocean, large starboard ramp
swells. Ended up sailing until ~5:40pm overpowered on a 5.2+3.3spiderlock.
Sensor at Bodega doesn't read accurately in these winds, said 26ave, but had
to be more. Chris
