Aw, heck, there's GOT to be a sailor or two out there who are contractors.
Maybe even on this email list, or at least known by someone on this list.
All we gotta do is get that contractor to put in a *real* low bid, and use
some of us for the labor. Shit, you even ought to be able to reuse the
chain link stuff - just put in new posts, tack the chain link stuff up
to them, rip out the old posts (I suspect they can't be reused, but who
knows?), and voila! more parking!! Anyone know any contractors out there
that would be interested in helping out? (I know I'm getting ahead of
myself, but what the hell :-)

Yeah, getting permission from FC is gonna be the problem. I know they'd be
concerned about liability (that's why we'd need a contractor to front the
effort, to use their insurance). I'd like to figure out what other concerns
(besides just general obstinacy) they might have, get answers figured out,
and see if something can be made to happen. I mean, they let us put pea
gravel in, so there might be hope if we (SFBA?) came in with a complete
plan that didn't cost them much (read: $0).

Suggestions?
