Have sailed Pomponio on many south days in the winter! Generally it's out
of control. There are some rocks out there as I did make some reference
to them in a log I kept several years ago. On a north west it's almost
impossible to get to the wind line at Pomponio. As I recall there is a
wind shadow and the surf itself lies in the shadow. I have gotten pounded
trying to get out at Pomponio and then not rewarded by being able to
shred some of them same meaty fatboys that ripped me up!
