Not TI/nor the stick...a bit more west and south from there.....I was in
San Jose on business on Monday, and 'swung' by Waddell. As mike forecast
on iwindsurf, there is a local sea breeze on the water. The wind is not
making it up the cliff to where the sensor is located. It was steady
14-16mph on the water, perfect kite weather (I was lit on 18m x2, which
turns more like a 12m kite;-). This was my first wave day on a kite - very
fun I may add. You can huck really big jumps off the wave faces. This
combined with the lift of the kite makes for amazing hang time.

Tuesday found me in the S. bay again, and the wather seemed to be the same.
The wind was a bit lighter and the waves were MUCH bigger. I was humbled
by the overhead + size waves. Amazing how much speed you pick up dropping
in on a big monster, while being pulled by a 18m kite. The wind was light
enough to make the water glassy between the huge waves. Since the kite is
at 100' in the air, you are still well powered on the glassy water. Epic.

Good winds to all, Z.

Anyone sail Treasure Island the last two days? How about a report. Saturday

at TI was awesome with a record 60 windsurfers on site at one time but a
couple thousand acres of on the water area to spread out on.

Monday night I was using my VHF radio to monitor the Coast Guard as they
picked up a hypothermic kiter at Crissy and loaded him/her into an
ambulance.
I heard another call bu Coasties starting a search for two windsurfers
reported 2-3 miles off Candlestick after sunset. Any first hand info?

Peter
