With proper instruction and common sense, kiting is a very safe sport. The
learning curve is much faster than windsurfing and that is the problem. Too
many people, too little space. Coyote is not a good place to learn due to
fluky wind inside, swimming area, airplane wing vertices outside etc. You
will usually only see experienced kiters there. 3rd is very good for
learning both kiting and sailing. 3rd is also a ZOO, especially on the
weekends. One good note kiting is really fun when the wind is light.
Usually there are not many sailors so problems are few. Don't worry Kirk, I
have not gone 100% to the "dark side". I am enjoying both sports. I guess
I'm "bi"!!
