I also sailed Waddell on Sat. I was very comfortable on a 4.7
at 4:30 when the pager showed 30+. So I think that now the
Waddell sensor is over-reporting. A guy told me he sailed
on Fri on a 5.3, sensor at 28. Nice defined sets,
head high.
But what really amazed me was driving down highway 1 the ocean
was a gray lake until the fog broke up at Pigeon point, and
then in the next 5 miles you develop 30mph of wind that is mostly
sideshore! How does that happen? What's nice about that is
with so local a wind, the chop is not too bad and you get
relatively clean waves. Waddell/Davenport is really a sort
of wavesailing miracle.
