There wasn't that much information provided--it was a very short article.
The article (which unfortunately I've tossed) was aiming itself at comfrey
included in over-the-counter supplement type products, not using the raw
plant. I assumed it was for ingested, refined products. The article didn't
say much about how they've figured this out (whoever "they" is). One could
say that drinking alcohol causes liver damage--while it's a true statement,
it lacks the requisite "how much" information and knowing that doesn't stop
most of us.
