One end will be sold the construction jobs - get all the Hunters Point voters
voting for jobs.

The financial Market crowd will want easier trips to LA and planes don't take
off over Pacific Heights or the Financial District so why should they care?

Lady Di's Hubby and other supporters of Willie Brown want to make a billion on
the constructin contract. The GOP would be no better, but the MONEY to elect
democrats has to come from somewhere. The State with the most people and high
growth rate is a money machine for developers and they support democrats who
allow them government contracts to build airports and roads by delivering the
labor/jobs votes. It cracks me up that the DEMS are seen as good for the
environment and yet they want to fill in the bay to pay off their supporters.

Us small people, groups have to keep writing our letters, attending meetings,
etc. It is SO DISCOURAGING to keep losing battles, but we are making a stand
and that might be all it takes.

Has anyone pointed to the hydrology problems they have had at Crissy and then
said "This was a TINY project compared to the 100 acres of fill for the
runways. How can we not expect the problems to be far worse?"
