Can't let JR's post go uncommented on. Dave Hume has definitely upgraded since JR visited, it appears (his board comment was true about 2-3 years ago - I complained at the time, too). Hume now at least has several Bic Veloces (later 90's) that are fine for the lighter winds. As I indicated in my earlier post, his higher wind gear is most lacking (partly due to normal wind patterns), which is why I bother to ship my smaller board, plus I'm more comfortable on my own stuff when it gets serious. Sails are only mediocre, again partly due to expectations and use patterns of customer base, (so I bring my rigs - can't expect him to stock 8.7 race sails, etc. for beginner crowd).

Last year, there were nice, large rollers/breaks on South side of bay, easily reachable, which I started to enjoy (wave novice - except for some Kanaha exposure several years ago).

One way to encourage him to upgrade is to provide market demand, which is why I always mention his operation.

As I said, it's not Maui. But then neither is the ambience......
