Big island windsurfing isn't all that great. and yes, i would recommend 4-wheel
if your going
out to souths or blacks. The lava is sharp be careful! Trades aren't good like
Maui. WInd blows
down in the morning and up in the evening. Big gear is the call.

Hilton waikaloa (A-bay) has slalom style, nice beach and restaurants & good
weed plus cool concerts at night.
I have see it break out on the point on big days, but no way to get there.
Rentals at A-bay suck. There newest board is a '89 bic rock. . .
and the booms are always to big for the sails (NeilPryde Combats and NOrth
Alpha Beta's i think).
But you'll be so stoned on your big island ice tea you won't care.
Watch out for the paddle boats, plastic kayaks &
snorkel sticks, it's a dangerous world out there.

PeAce,
JR
