I can't speak for everyone, but I am a paying customer myself and I'd much
rather pay a few dollars more and not deal with the ads. In fact, I'd love
to see the site more usable and less focused on pageviews, banner clicks,
etc.

I spend thousands of dollars a year on windsurfing and kiting gear, travel,
ski lift tickets, etc. From what I understand there are a lot of people out
here that are in a similar position. I work in the internet industry
myslef, and I know how difficult and costly running a site like yours. Why
don't you start charging a fee for using the site that would be sufficient
to make iwindsurf a viable business? Everyone else does it. The boards and
sails don't come free wrapped in huge ads. the ski mountains aren't covered
by banners (thanks god!) to reduce the price of lift tickets. And plus, no
one clicks on the internet ads any more anyway.

We have temporarily agreed to serve a limited number of popup ads on
iWindsurf.com. Based on customer feedback, this may or may not continue
long-term. We will be evaluating whether keeping the popup ads on our site
is reasonable, by considering: the feedback from our customers, as well as
the fact that popup ads really can help keep our costs to customers low.

Any feedback can be sent to: <feedback@iwindsurf.com-DeleteThis>.

Note: Our policy is to be extremely selective about which popup ads we are
willing to run. The AT&T one for example, could be of potential interest to
customers since we are working on making our website WAP [wireless web]
enabled next year.

Jim + crew,

I understand that you need to make a living, but
I really don't like the new popup ads on the website, they are just too
much.
I might cancel my membership over this.
Since I pay iWindsurf directly, I expect to have a hassle-free session
at the website.
One thing I love about the web is how it's quick and easy and quiet, a
haven of peace in this crazy world...but popups intrude on that fast and
painless functionality. There's already half a screen of BS I have to
deal with before I can get to the nuggets of info I want...
I find the popups irritating as hell, like the heavy traffic on the way
to the beach.

Please reconsider your popup policy. How about no popups for paying
customers?

Bottom Bob
