His name was David Rea and he will be missed by all of us who sailed with
him at Candlestick, Oyster and Third and snowboarded with him at Northstar
over the years. He was a transplant from the Washington DC area, but lived
in San Francisco for many years. He worked long shifts at San Francisco
General (in their Psch and HIV wards), so that he could windsurf or
snowboard on his days off. He is survived by his long-time friend Jay, and
all the rest of his friends.

The full story of his passing can be found at:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/chronicle/archive/2000/09/18
/MNR1BA1.DTL

but the full story of his life will live on in the hearts of us all.

A memorial service will held at Candlestick at 1:00 pm on Saturday,
September 30 around the main launch area. Robyn knows the details, so if you
have any questions, ask her when you see her.

I'll really miss him.
