I can't make it, but what Zeev said was no B.S. It was beautiful out there
yesterday, even when we were just standing on the beach looking up at the
cliffs and dunes and out at the sets... and no crowd, just a wingman to write
your eulogy if you break your mast on the outside. Zeev and I only ended up
sharing a wave once because we were running a criss cross pattern. I was
upwind watching Zeev and getting ready to turn down the line when the wave
crested up a little taller . Zeev was watching the wave and getting ready for
his move... but the wave just wasn't quite there. We both patiently watched
and waited because we knew this one would stand up a little taller. Finally
the wave starts to pitch up and Zeev turns down the line. I turn down a
second after he does... and one second later we both bottom our fins in the
sand in 6" of water and end up jumping onto the beach with our rigs in hand.
I was totally cracking up at how hypnotized we were by that ripple of water.
If whitey had been basking in the shallows we would have run right over him.

Peter
