I appreciate the comments. I've tried the plastic rectangular washers
before, but found they break in a short time under the torque put on them in
surfsailing. I agree that the JP straps seem too soft. I'm going to make
some stainless washers with a little tooth on them. I'll let anyone
interested know how they work.
