Thanks to all those that came and thanks to KenP for getting me off my butt to try once again to get heard at these "hearings". It went from
Noon until 2:30PM.

What a thing to behold. The amount of people there on salary to push the proposal could start a new product line at a high technology company.

I had two questions read into record that I was not able to get in at the last meeting.

Q#1 Why not build another airport outside the Bay Area proper such as Washington DC did when National Airport was too small to handle
internetional planes and the high traffic?

(History: National build Dulles 60 miles from DC and it was in the boonies at first then industry and jobs moved there and the corridor is now
filled in relieving congestion in DC.)

A#1: For people to use the airport, they would have to shut down SFO (A lie, as National is still in use, just it is not a heavy weight so these
people at SFO would not have as much political power). Many other arm waving explainations to similar questions saying how "people would not
want to drive there" or whatever. So I guess delays are not as important as flying out of SF???

One gentleman from the N. Bay wanted to offer land for a new airport (I am sure he would profit) and he said they only had 6 homes in the area
that would complain of the noise so it would be cheap to mitigate. He suggested moving all air cargo there and perhaps some commercial flights
as well to relieve the traffic at SFO. I liked this idea. This would be convenient for people in Marin as well as the East Bay North of
Oakland.

Several others asked similar questions as well as why not have a "regional solution" that balances the load. SFO is crowded because SJ charges
$100 more for similar flights. This tells me that people are willing to put up with delays if it saves them money...

I think it is clear we need a regional solution and need to address the issue on a regional level before we waste any more money on this fool
idea of filling the Bay.

Q#2: When will we get "mitigation" for closing down our "Flying Tigers" windsurfing site?
A#2: Flying Tigers was closed during the Gulf War as it was a security risk. They do not need to mitigate this.

I answered "The war is over now".

Several asked "Why no contest to find the best technology for Alternative #2 - no fill and use new technology"?

It sure feels like big money is behind the jobs and money this will mean to build the runway. Don't they know we have a shortage already of
people to build things so we don't need these jobs that bad? My guess is the real reason is the money that the construction companies will make
and contribute to Willie Brown causes is really the issue.

I had one idea that perhaps we need to try. All of the paid people there are real people. Perhaps we should try to appeal to them as people
with questions like "How can you take money for doing something that is so wrong? Is money THAT important? Are there no other jobs?"

We should also ask "Why not fill in the whole Bay and name it 'Willie Brown Parkway'?" The people from "Save the Bay" afterwards told me that
Willie Brown has said in the past "I would fill in the whole thing if it meant jobs for my people". Jeepers, we could get plenty of jobs if we
filled in the whole darn thing! It is either right or wrong. Stealing is stealing, just because you only take $1 worth of candy rather than a
fur coat, you can still go to jail if caught... Filling in the Bay is wrong and it should not matter if it is "just a few thousand square feet"
of the whole darned thing. I'd be against this even if I didn't windsurf!
