We had about 60 windsurfers show up for the meeting and 27 spoke to the
planning commission. I think the meeting was highly educational for the
commisioners who seemed very interested. Some of the commisioners are clearly
worried about traffic and the size of the development in general and also seem
receptive to our concerns. With a three minute speaking limit it was hard to
go into much detail, but I think we gave them a perfect primer so that they
will be ready to read our letters and better understand us if we have to give
them more input whne they are ready to decide whether or not to certify the
EIR.

We managed to get a good aerodynamics guy, Mark Tischler, to help us on the
wind-tunnel issues and had a letter by Mike Godsey read that also helped
explain why the wind-tunnel methodology may be lacking. I want to thank
various aerodynamics engineers who have spent time educating many of us about
the wind-tunnel process and what issues we can reasonably take issue with.
That group includes Dean Liu, Mike Magee, and Mark Tischler.

THANK YOU very much to everyone who showed up. I think it was great for the
commissioners to see our commitment and passion about our sport and about
Coyote.

THE KEY NOW: We still need letters to reach the planning department. All of
our points were made in very abbreviated form due to the speaking time limit.
Any letters which challenge the significant impact standard or focus on why
Coyote is an irreplacable resource for windsurfing will be helpful.

Peter
