I didn't say that.

The physics is interesting I'm sure but anyone who's ever sailed in
the lee of anything has practical experience with wind shadows. My
personal experience at Coyote and elsewhere combined with one look at
the photo on Ken's site says that "severely impact, possibly destroy"
is very likely to be a fair evaluation. So I'm sending the letter.

If we could develop a model, especially based on the fact that the
cove would have large barriers both to leeward and windward, I fear
the results would be even worse than intuition might suggest. But all
that is academic, especially if we never even get the issue on the
table.

My charts are at home, but based on memory and Mapquest, the buildings
would be at about 290 to 300 degrees from the main section of beach
(near the swimming area). Launching closer to ASD would only make
things worse.
