Actually I think all those people who swim the english channel use some
sort of wax stuff that helps keep the water off their body, while not
inhibiting their swimming like a wetsuit/drysuit would.

I've heard about people who swim the Bering straight. I'm pretty sure
they don't go in w/ just their swim trunks on.
