I conclude that when the wind is light the easiest way to get in is to first
balance the sail on the back of the board on the boom to keep the sail out of
the water as much as possible. Lay on the board with your harness hook slid
out of the way balanced to keep the nose up. Keeping the board as level in
the water as possible then makes it efficient to make headway towards your
destination.

I have tried this method while others were swimming their rigs in with side
stroke and crawl methods. I mad much better time getting in due to the
technique.
