For the VHF radio, I use a water bottle holder I picked up at REI
(Aquasack?). The radio goes into a WestMarine waterproof bag first,
then into the bottle holder. The holder is designed to fit over your
shoulder, but I thread it through my PFD loops and keep it around my waist.
I added some extra stitching to the strap for strength. Works pretty well.
For other stuff (strobe, towline, flares, etc) I bought an orange Bay Pack.
It's permanently tied to my harness so it's always there.
(WBW and ASD have them)
