An access issue that has so far not been discussed in this forum is the
Foster City plan to turn the old dump upwind of 3rd into a park. There was
a short article on the subject in this summer's SFBA newsletter. 3rd Av
sailors know from experience that the best wind is usually right across the
dump, so it has the potential to be among the best launches in the Bay.
There are many days where 3rd is marginal but the dump would be sailable.
It would also help to have a new site since the 3rd av. parking is likely
to overflow next year.
