I have a 75lb friend who just had his first windsurfing experience and
is totally stoked. Now, he is interested in acquiring his own equipment
and needs advice.

What is a good setup for a 75lb 8 year old?

He is interested in a modern lightweight kid's rig, since small adult
sails are too tall and weigh too much. His experience so far has been
with a dacron kid's sail and a full-scale adult longboard.
Surprisingly, the board worked OK, although the dacron sail was a
handful. He'd prefer monofilm/mylar with battens if possible. Should he
be looking for a smaller board? How are the mini-BIC and mini-Malibu?
Are they geared for even smaller sailors or would they be fine for
him?

And of course, if you have inexpensive gear for sale, he's interested.
(SF Bay or possibly LA area)

Thanks,
