Sounds like there was a bunch of us who wanted to be and stay in the
channel but we did not do it as much as we wanted to 'cause there was
not too many people around... I hesitated too just because this is the
type of day when your mast can snap just happily sailing along... Even
with the radio and all, I did not feel like swimming in these waters
     for a couple hours...

Maybe we should find a way to get all those interested in "doing the
channel on a 3.0 day" together and to stay together when out there...

     Thoughts?

I was on 3.5/8'6", my smallest stuff. Most folks were on 2.9-3.5. A
petite asian woman was on a 2.0! The transition to the channel was nice
(went from chocalate brown Yoohoo to nice jade green color quite
abruptly), and the rollers were awesome there. Unfortunately, due to
lack of sailors and the radical conditions, I didn't want to push my
luck, so I didn't go for monster air.

Bad news at the end of the day, 7:00 or so. One sailor broke or majorly
sprained his ankle. Udi and friend took him to the hospital. Another
guy knocked out his front teeth with his mast. Jim P. helped him out.

Humorous quote overhead yesterday, "I'm waitin till it backs off to 3.7."
