Thanks to you all, Jay was able to fix my old pager so now I have two.
 However,
the Genius keeps getting "err 09" which gets fixed by reinserting the
battery or putting in a new battery (I chose which depending on how weak the
font looks). This is a very frequent occurrence, and I can't have my work
page number switched to the new pager until I resolve this problem, since my
pager has to be with me and on all the time. (No, I don't take it in the
water.) Does anyone know how to solve the "err 09" problem or what causes
it?

I have new respect for mud. On Saturday May 03, I tried to sail into ASD in
the mid afternoon. (Next time, I'll sail into Coyote and walk up.) I must
have taken me half an hour to go 100 yards. The water was about three
inches deep and the mud about three feet deep. I found it easiest to walk
on my knees and drag my stuff as that way I didn't sink as far. (Next time,
I'll take a screw driver and try sailing fin-less. I wonder if you can do
that in three inches of water.)

I thought that was the day Jay got picked up by a sail boat at Sierra Point.
I'd like to hear more about that as I've always comforted myself that I
could swim toward shore and would make it if I didn't worry about how far up
or down the Peninsula I landed.
