Well, I must be a golf ball magnet. Saturday afternoon at 3rd, I parked in the
overflow parking area alongside the driving range. In a span of 10 minutes, 3
golf balls sailed over the net along that side of the driving range and landed
on the pavement. Luckily nothing/nobody was hit. But given this incident, and
the large number of golf balls on the ground over in that area, there is still
a golf ball problem with the driving range in addition the already discussed
problem with the side course.

It appears that if the golf ball is hit high and to the right while a strong
west or northwest wind blowing, the ball can be carried over the right side
net. Looking at the right side net, you can see where balls can escape. It's
where the net drops in height about 2/3 the way out from the tee area. This
could probably be solved by just extending the higher net all the way around
the driving range.

I just called Mariner's Point and left a message with Christopher Aliaga
describing the details of the incident.
