Landed in SFO at 1:30. Could see that the wind was building up. Hit
the water at 2:30. 5.3/8'8" Very northerly. Heading down towards the
bridge. It was less windy east of the channel marker. Just barely
powered. I forced my way upwind as much as I could. I ended up sailing
in a full east/west pattern between the channel marker and Coyote.
Perfectly powered all afternoon and the wind was very very consistent.
A few rollers but overall pretty flat water. The channel was blah. I
sailed about 3 miles upwind without much trouble. I was working on my
laydowns and getting a tan. I lost the board during a jibe where I was
not paying attention and saw it heading straight downwind for about 50
yards. The big swim. There was not another board in sight. Thanked my
skinny mast for sinking so easily... Left the water at 4:45. Time to
get back to work. It seemed still powered and steady then. Not a bad
way to kill some time between two planes...
