>From today's Oakland Tribune:

Suit theft endangers windsurfing program

OAKLAND - A popular windsurfing program at Lake Merrit may be in
danger of sinking after the week-end theft of 32 wetsuits from a
storage area, officials said Tuesday.

[...] The suits have the name Hotline and City of Oakland written on
the sleeves. [...] There is no money available to replace them.

The windsurfing program was started las summer and attracted more than
200 participants. Most were children, including a 9-year old, but one
surfer was 55. Some of the participants are from low-income,
"at-risk" groups..

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police
at 238-3326. ---Luigi
