Los Barilles and La Ventana are on the coast between Cabo and La
Paz.

I have stayed at a hotel in La Paz and rented a beat up VW bug to
get to La Ventana for windsurfing. I think it took just a little
under an hour to get from the hotel to La Ventana. When I was last
in La Paz it was still an authentic Mexican town with lots of
travellers but not many tourists... people with kayaks or hiking
boots instead of people with $200 sunglasses and medically improved
body parts. On a no wind day we went on a good dive trip from the
port in La Paz. I'm not sure if there are many or as many time
share properties in La Paz.

Los Barilles is a longer haul from either La Paz or Cabo. I think
it is about 1 1/2 hours from either... maybe a little more from
Cabo San Lucas which I seem to recall is south of San Jose del Cabo
where the airport is located. You could day trip for windsurfing,
but multiple days in a row would be tough. Cabo is more of a hang
on the beach/by the pool, go shopping, go to the crowded night club
kind of place.
