I had good luck with bubble wrap, didn't pop due to altitude at least.

Another suggestion that I used successfully was to buy cheap plastic roof gutter and cut 10ft section in half and tape over bubble wrap on rails. Was a bit tricky to bend and duct tape and takes time (as indicated in earlier post), but no problems.
