Help Wanted: Director of Worldwide Wave Research
Ocean Power Delivery (http://www.oceanpd.com), an innovative wave power
generation company, has an immediate opportunity for a Director of Worldwide
Wave Research.
The WWR Director will be responsible for selecting near-shore big wave zones
for locations of company's future "wave farms" of novel wave energy
converters called Pelamis. Building on the technology developed for the
offshore industry, the Pelamis has a similar output to a modern wind
turbine.
Ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the dynamics of waves,
flows and currents. A College or higher degree in physics or mechanical
engineering is required, a degree in fluid dynamics a plus.
Understanding the importance of first hand experience with the power of
waves Ocean Power Delivery seeks an experienced windsurfer for this
position. Ideal candidate must have at least 10 years of experience as a
recreational or professional windsurfer. Minimum of 6 years of sailing in
big ocean waves is required.
Outstanding compensation package including high base, + uncapped
bonus/commission incentive based on performance + stock options. Company
paid insurance plan including medical/dental, 401K. Transportation and
equipment for field tests is provided.
