I am going to try to slip this in quickly before the flames about
off-topic discussions start. If there is one thing in the world I
am somewhat of an expert on, it may be minivans: My family
currently has three. (Yes, that is embarrassing. One's now for
sale for about $5000.)
Being very happy with both my wife's Honda Odyssey and the 1993 blue
Dodge Grand Caravan I wanted to replace at 110K miles, I set out to
purchase another of either. I settled on the Chrysler Town and
Country twin of the Grand Caravan because I found it quieter than
the Honda, and the driver's seat more comfortable. Chrysler's
middle-row quad seats now "fold and tumble" forward to right behind
the front seats to create more space for sails without removing the
middle seats.
Regarding AWD: Although I wanted AWD initially for ski trips, I
found there is a bit more noise and vibration, and less pickup. Try
driving the Chrysler or Dodge if you want AWD, but I'll stick with
Spikes Spiders for snow traction.
