I'll check that out. Remember that SFBA and Bay Vote Yes are two different
entities.

SFBA is a recreational association that promotes safety and access. The board
of SFBA (San Francisco Boardsailing Association) has approved support of Bay
Vote Yes that will include covering some expenses, throwing a party, and
mailing out information, but SFBA has a budget and has limits on political
spending based on campaign financing laws and regulations.

Bay Vote Yes is a campaign that can receive unlimited (non deductible)
contributions to be used for events and most importantly for direct mailings
to SF registered voters to get them informed. If Bay Vote Yes ends up with
some funds left over, the funds can be rolled over to the second vote
(assuming Prop D passes). The first vote on November 6 decides whether the
voters get a chance to approve or disapprove the runways. The second vote
would be a yes or no vote on the runway plan that SFO selects once they
narrow their choices. The direct mail will be expensive, but the campaign
will be in deep trouble if it is not ready to respond to the opposition
spending a lot on ads and mailings. I am hearing that the postal service may
have mishandled some of the mail going to the Bay Vote Yes P.O. Box, so if
anyone did sent a contribution previously, let me know and I'll check to see
if it was received.

Thanks again to those who are helping out. The election in November really
provides a great opportunity to let the people choose instead of the machine.
We've got along way to go but we've got a head of steam on.

Peter
