That's exactly what we did this summer. They charged us $75 each
way. You pay cash at the check-in desk. Be careful you do not tell
the check-in clerk that it is 2 windsurfers otherwise they may
charge you double. I don't advocate lying, but you want to be
economical with the truth - "It's my windsurfing equipment"
Make sure to pack your boards really well - I put cardboard packing
wrapped around all the rails an tail and then any extra padded gear
wrapped around the rails too (like waist harnesses opened-up) all
inside a heavy duty coffin bag. I still had an impact ding on one
of the rails!
If you are considering buying a quiver bag or coffin bag I highly
recommend getting one with wheels. Fully packed bags weigh about
80-90 lbs.
Remember to remove the vent screw for flying
Remember to put it back for sailing when you get there!
Cheers....Chilly.

Sun Trips?
I'm considering taking gear for two sailors to Maui on Sun Trips'
charter to/from SFO. Anyone have experience with Sun Trips' charges
for boards and gear? We could fit into a double board bag and a
large, heavy quiver bag with six sails, two booms, and two masts.
