I think the thread appeared about a month or two ago. but basically the
first thing was to use some extra line to tie the webbing of the universal
to something solid on the baseplate on the board. I used the button hole on
the sliding plate on my Streamlined baseplate. This connection keeps the
board and rig attached. then you place the base of the broken universal on
the upwind side of the baseplate (there was a nice little notch there on
mine) and if you keep downward pressure on the rig it stays there pretty
well. it took several waterstarts to get it to work but it was surprisingly
stable once sailing. But check out the thread - it was quite detailed and
very useful.
