does anyone know when or how we can get a wind sensor set up at the
new crissy bathroom? (is there an official name for it?)

or for an even better question, what would it take to put a wind
sensor on the buoy that sits 100 yards off of crissy beach -- that is,
assuming all of the technical details were worked out! it would be
interesting to see how much the data varies at the buoy vs. the rest
of the land-based sensors. maybe it might only give marginally more
accurate readings anyway.

i'd be interested in helping out anyone who can look into it. i've
made my own hardware for gathering weather data as a personal project
at www.jline.com (click on the weather link), so i have a decent idea
on the subject. unfortunately, my paying day job takes up most of my
time. ;(
