And this quote from Mineta in today's Mercury News. Maybe some letters
to Norm would help him see things in a different light.

"And he is pushing Bay Area leaders to get moving on more runways in San
Francisco. ``We will build runways in the bay,'' Mineta said, adding
that when bad weather takes San Francisco International down to one
runway ``it screws everything up north and south, east and west. We have
to do something about it.''"

Yes, we do need to do "something." We need to find regional solutions
and solve problems without destroying our national treasure, San
Francisco Bay. Over 80% of the delays at SFIA have nothing to do with
runways at SFIA. It's ironic that Mineta calls for regional consensus on
BART but just wants to ram the runways down our thoats.
