I would like to stir up the waters slightly by making another small
suggestion about the content of our promotional material.

Although few of them are within the San Francisco city limits, there
are quite a few people out there who believe otherwise, feeling that
the counting of questionable votes is inappropriate.* Although we may
disagree with them on this issue, we could really use their support!
They have money, they have influence, and they have good reasons
(traffic, taxes, noise, etc.) to support our cause. I would suggest
that we should be careful not to alienate this segment of the community
by appearing as just another partisan political group. Our concerns
include everyone, even `them.'

On that we can all agree!

* Before everyone begins flaming me on election issues, please note that
I do not necessarily agree with the Supreme Court's decision, nor with
the deliberately biased plans suggested by both campaigns. I had
hoped for a more fair and less partisan solution, regardless of the
outcome. Locally, we still have time to build a nonpartisan coalition
over this issue -- can we do better than they have done?
