Davis Point the other days was wishy washy. When I got there, it was
basically dead. After five minutes it started blowing hard enough to push me
off balance and then eased back again. It seemed like the strong wind was
mostly at higher altitude and dipping down every 10 minutes for a quick puff.
Even the smoke off the tall stacks was going from straight up to straight
sideways. Maybe next time. The USGS wind map
(http://sfports.wr.usgs.gov/wind/) may be a good predictor, because it went
from showing stong flow to almost nothing just before I left the office.
