While this does not answer your request, beginner boards should be
available at Shoreline in the afternoon. I saw people renting these
the last couple of weekends. Another place is Foster City, and it
will have beginner boards after 1pm on weekends. I not real sure
whether either place will rent to a first-timer, though.
