The reason that SFO is not proposing a regional airport is because they are
not a regional authority, which is the thing that is desparately needed.
The airport is a business run by the City.
Many people raise the regional issue, and it falls in the same category as
many of the others -- "Divide and conquer."
Yes, the man who proposed the north bay airport is a land owner of some of
the land, but more importantly, his property, although being used for
farming, is categorized by all the appropriate governmental agencies (the
authorized agents for you, me, and all of us) as wet lands. Someday, it
needs to be returned to true wet land use.
