FYI: Gordon's cause of death was a failure of his heart valve. The
service was very nice and the family was stoked that so many of Gordon's

I am sorry to report that windsurfer Gordon French died last Sunday
3/26/00 at around 5pm shortly after completing a sailing session at 3-mile
beach in
Santa Cruz County.
Gordon had fallen in the impact zone and had been washed by a couple of
waves before swimming himself and his gear to the beach. While chatting to
some other sailors on shore, he reported that he was feeling light-headed.
Shortly after this he passed out on the sand and never regained
consciousness. The exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
Gordon was a regular sailor at 3rd Ave and the Santa Cruz Beaches. Though
you may not have known him personally, you might have recognized his old
Labrador, Rincon. And his gold (or maybe gray) Westfaila VW van or more
recently he drove
a new van with "Lost-Found.org" logos.
There will be a service held in Gordon's memory today at 6pm:
