- Don't send anything but plaintext if you want people to read your
messages. The message in question was posted in MIME format, the
people that couldn't read it likely either don't have a MIME capable
mail client or don't have the correct setup to parse it.

The listserver won't do anything to the content of the message,
unless you send 8bit text, then all bets are off. Of course there's
no telling what the downstream systems do, many sites will strip
MIME encoded messages to avoid virus problems.
