Dear Carol:
I just wanted to say thanks for addressing the parking issue as best
you are able. I feel a bit more optimistic knowing that you have our
interests in mind. During the 14 years I have been sailing there 90% of
the people using that area during the season were windsurfers, there
were few problems or bad behavior until the 4th of July or holidays when
the general public would turn out in force. After many years of
convenient access, I had a feeling that windsurfers were going to get
screwed in the new environment at Crissy. I am particularly worried
about this turf parking, what if people start tearing up the turf with
their vehicles? (it won't be the windsurfers, I assure you).

The park is going to be great for everybody if we all remain cognizant
and respectful of other's needs and interests. Thanks again, I really
appreciate the efforts you laid out here.

                       TO CRISSY FIELD BOARDSAILORS

The turf is still growing and we greatly appreciate your
patience. We
have temporarily changed the traffic flow and parking at the East Beach
to try
to accommodate as many users as possible. While the turf cannot yet
withstand
vehicles on it, please do use the western areas for rigging. There are
signs
there to guide you. Since it seems to have finally stopped raining,
construction is underway on the restroom; the scheduled completion date
is June.

We will be posting a sign that asks Crissy Field users who do not have
bulky
boardsailing equipment to tote around, to please park at the eastern
edge of the
lot. While we cannot mandate this, most people are understanding so we
hope
this will help.

I appreciate getting your questions and comments. It's been a long
project but
we will all make it through. Again, thank you for your patience.

I am a one-person office and I will be away on business until April 7.
Please
feel free to leave me messages but I will not be able to respond until
then.
