I've sailed near Toulon/Iseres it is closer to Italy than Spain. They had
rental places right on
the beach. Found it by accident, saw all these cars with windsurf gear on
the roof. When I got to the hotel I said where do they sail. He said out
back, it turns out we were on an Isthmus. It was Bump and Jump, I was on the
water in an hour, a business trip that turned out good, didn't plan on
windsurfing. On the kitesurfing group they talk about places in france a
lot, I assume they'd be good for windsurfing too.

If you go that way email me. I know a small hotel. I think the summer is the
season. I sailed in June. You won't be alone however, but August is even
busier. If you find great places, please post us. I am going next summer
with the family.

On the fanny pack issue, I just use a heavy duty pack and have a safety
leash for it and secure the radio inside it as well. Haven't lost it yet and
Kitesurfing is way more of a "drag" than windsurfing. I've been drug upside
down at body planing speeds for 50 yards or more. We call this the submarine
ride, pretty scary. Mine has 2 inch webbing.

Subject: Sailing in S. France in July?

Does anybody know if there is any reasonable wind on French Mediterranean
coast, near French-Spanish border, in July?

Is it possible to rent a shortish (~90l) board with a reasonable sail
there? (Not a beginner's 4m mammoth with a loose piece of cloth...)
