One more thread on this subject of Rips. When I was sailing Hookipa
with my friend who is a regular, he was telling me that if I go down
in front of the Rocks, to stand on my sail and the rip will carry you
you out around the rocks, very quickly. I think if its really big, you
are toast no matter what you do!

I've had my time in the Black Hole Zone at Waddell too. 30 minutes of
getting rinse cycled. I have been amazed at how big of a wave I have been
able to hold onto my gear in, if I stick the mast towards the wave. This
takes lots of energy too, but it does drag you towards shore if your
lucky enough to hold on.

I need a wave fix, the delta's getting old!
