The way to succeed is to find allies like Save The Bay and other recreational
users like the Coyote Point Marina crowd... but we need to recognize that
people concerned about noise may end up on the other side of the fence in a
search for options. One of the reasons runway 28R may be so far down wind may
have to do with where it puts planes on approach or departure. There also
would be noise issues if we wanted to push for another large runway at
Oakland's North Field where no new fill would be needed. At this point we
need to start getting a picture of the noise component so we can figure out
which people will be our allies and where we may end up at odds with other
members of the opposition. It would be better to resolve our issues out of
the public eye and present a united front.
