I recently bought the removable version. They seem nice and sturdy and it is
good to know that I can re-establish my ability to get into parking garages if
I need to. My only problem was with the width of the gorgerax. The base of the
rack sytem that slides over the bar has to mount fully inside of the tower
that the bar sits on. My gorgerax sit so far over the center of my car that my
thule box has to hang out 4" over my passenger door. I guess I would need it
that way if I had a big AVS board that was 28" wide, but as it stands it is a
bit of a pain. I though of having a welder cut a couple inches off the base
bars for the gorge rax, but after the effort getting everything together, it
will stay like this... just look for the geared up car that looks like it is
about to do a right hand barrel-roll:)
