Hey - I am organizing a windsurf trip to Costa Rica this winter and
extending an
open invitation to those of you wanting a winter break involving tons of fun
and windsurfing.

A quick background... I lived at Lake Arenal for 4 months 2 years ago
(1997), windsurfing, teaching English and loving life in general. In 1997
the windsurfing was mind blowing. Average sail size for me was a 4.2m.
Truly incredible windsurfing. Shorty wetsuit weather, fresh water,
equipment waiting by the water rigged, grassy launch and tons of other stuff
to do.

Last year I went down for a month and brought a group of 6 people from the
SF
Bay Area with me. El Nino made conditions less than desireable - about 4 or
5 sailing days
for the week the group came down for. None the less, we had a blast. The
biggest complaint was that going back to work was really really tough.

Originally I had ideas of making a business out of it. But I quickly came
to the conclusion that I had no interest in making my favorite hobby into my
job. So I am going back again this winter and looking to bring another
group. My basic attitude here is 'the more the merrier.' There is plenty
of wind and water for everyone at Arenal. I have strong connections with
Hotel Tilawa and can get package deals set up for people. The prices I
would be getting for you are the same or cheaper than if you dealt with the
hotel directly. In turn the hotel hooks me up with a discounted room. I
won't deal with airfare for anyone, because it is way too much of a pain in
the ass. But the other benefit is that you get a defacto tour guide by
having me along, who knows the areas and all the good stuff to do.

I can give more info on what Arenal is like too. No dates are set yet,
but January or February is best. If you want to go to Arenal,
but not with the group I can still hook you up with info and connect you
with the right places to stay, get gear, etc...
