The wind started early and from the right direction - West.
When I got there, 4pm, I contemplated going out on small
gear - but decided to go big "just in case". Went out on 6.2/9'4"
(207#). Planed for 2 hours non stop. Nice swells from
both direction. Could have been on the smaller gear.

Sailed all the way to Berkely and stopped at H's Lordship
to use the restroom. No problem getting back. It was a blast
flying downwind and jumping off the backs of waves.

My observations about Pt. Isabella:
SW wind - s/b reading at least 15 on windcall for it to be good sailing.
When
the fog is behind the gate, or just starting to come in, it is generally
good. The island blocks the swells and accelerated the wind, making
for fun flatwater high speed jibes, body drags, etc. Additionally, the
wind at the launch is typically light on a SW blow. The swells are
formed nicely for port jumps. Blows hard on the outside - past the
island.

West wind - at 15, it is blowing hard, about 20 on the water. The
wind is filled in all the way to the shore. The island blocks the swell
and the wind - no flat water high speed jibes. The swell is formed
nicely for port & starboard side. The wind is about the same inside
and outside. Really easy to sail to Berkely - a fun 1.5 mile reach in
each direction with many jumps.

If you are hungry after your session, stop by costco for a $1.65 Kosher hot
dog and a soda - tastes awfully good after a long sesh.
